HARRISONBURG, Va. — The eighth-ranked James Madison men's soccer team earned a point on Saturday evening at Sentara Park in Sun Belt Conference action as it played Coastal Carolina to a scoreless draw.Â

The Dukes moved to 5-1-5 overall and 1-0-2 in conference play, while the Chanticleers drew for the first time this season and moved to 3-7-1 (1-2-1 SBC).Â

Evan Southern paced the Dukes' offense with three shots, putting two on goal. Junior
Sebastian Conlon made three saves in goal, earning his sixth shutout of the season. The shutout was the Reston, Va. native's 15th of his career, moving into a tie for 10th in program history and a tie for fifth in Sun Belt history.Â

How It Happened
- It was a defensive stalemate in the first half, with only one shot on goal from the two teams combined.
- The shot came in the final moments of the half, as the ball was bobbled in the box where graduate Aidan Melville attempted a heel kick that went directly at the Coastal keeper.
- Both teams turned the dial up on the attack in the second half, with Doug Hainer putting a pair of shots on goal for Coastal in the 52nd and 53rd minutes.
- JMU had back-to-back corner kicks late in the second half, with a shot from redshirt senior Yanis Lelin being saved to set up a third corner.
