James Madison University’s Integrated Health and Sports Performance team aims to “set the standard” of high quality student-athlete centered care via a thoughtful, comprehensive and integrated approach to student-athlete wellbeing.
Mission Statement
The mission of the integrated health and sports performance unit at JMU is to positively influence and contribute to student-athletes’ well-being, in-game performance and pursuit of championships. The sports medicine, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition and sport and clinical psychology offices within the unit will focus on the integration, collaboration and coordination of services with an emphasis on excellence in communication. This holistic, multidisciplinary and innovative team of professionals is committed to assisting student-athletes to realize their full potential, minimize risk of injury, achieve competitive excellence and have an exemplary student-athlete experience at JMU.
Guiding Principles
The Associate Athletic Director for Integrated Health and Sports Performance supervises and coordinates the services dedicated to student-athlete health, well-being, and performance development. These services include sports medicine, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition and sport/clinical psychology.
