SOUTH BEND, Ind. – James Madison women's basketball shot 15-of-69 (.217) from the field to suffer its first setback of the season with a 92-46 loss at No. 6 Notre Dame on Wednesday night inside the Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center.
The Fighting Irish (3-0) out-rebounded the Dukes (3-1), 54-43, and shot .409 (9-for-22) from three.
Kseniia Kozlova posted her second double-double of the season, recording 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Jamia Hazell and
Peyton McDaniel finished with nine and eight points, respectively, while
Angela Williams pulled down a career-high nine rebounds.
Zakiya Stephenson tied her career high of six points.
Notre Dame was paced by Hannah Hidalgo with 24 points, followed by Olivia Miles (16) and Kate Koval (14). Koval wrangled in a game-high 16 rebounds to secure her first career double-double. Liatu King and Cassandre Prosper each added 11 points in the win.

First Quarter – ND 21, JMU 11
- Kozlova connected on the first three-pointer of her career to make it 6-6 at the 6:43 mark.
- The Fighting Irish scored 14 points in the paint to close the frame on a 15-5 run for a 10-point lead.
Second Quarter – ND 47, JMU 23
- Three consecutive scores from Notre Dame made it a 36-15 game with 5:58 remaining in the period.
- The Fighting Irish shot 9-of-16 (.563) as Hidalgo and Citron each scored seven to give Notre Dame a 47-23 advantage through thirty.
Third Quarter – ND 67, JMU 32
- After Barnes knocked down a jumper to open the second half, the Dukes did not make a field goal until 3:19 to trail 58-30.
- The Fighting Irish ended the third on a 9-0 run to go ahead 67-32 heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter – ND 92, JMU 46
- Kozlova added five points and five rebounds in the final frame.
- Hidalgo registered 11 points as the Fighting Irish out-scored the Dukes 25-14 for the win.
