HARRISONBURG, Va. – 11 different James Madison players contributed to the scoring effort as the Dukes came away with a resounding 96-64 win over Midway (Ky.) on Sunday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
JMU (7-6) shot 52.9 percent from the floor and held Midway (3-7) to 31.4 percent (22-of-70). Five Dukes scored in double figures, led by
Bryce Lindsay and
Eddie Ricks III, who each scored 13. Ricks III also tied his season-high in rebounds (8).
Miguel Shaw (19) and Robbie Henry (14) led Midway in scoring, with Shaw finishing an efficient 7-of-11 from the floor. Nick Keeton secured 10 rebounds while tallying seven points.
How It Happened
First Half: James Madison 55, Midway 23
- The Dukes went on a 10-0 run to open the game before Midway broke it with a jumper at 16:16 to make the score 10-2.
- Ricks III hit a three-pointer at 15:08 to extend JMU's lead to 15-4.
- JMU shot 6-of-9 (67%) early, while Midway struggled at 2-of-10 (20%).
- A hook shot by Hutchins-Everett at 5:27 sparked a 9-0 run, pushing JMU's lead to 48-16 at halftime.
- By halftime, the Dukes shot 20-of-31 (65%) overall and 8-of-12 (67%) from three, while Midway struggled, shooting 10-of-36 (28%) and 2-of-16 (13%) from beyond the arc.
Second Half: James Madison 41, Midway 41
- JMU stormed out of the half on a 12-3 run with Lindsay giving the Dukes their largest lead (67-26) on a jumper with 16:26 remaining in the game.
- A layup from Justin Taylor gave JMU a 91-58 lead with just under three minutes left before the Dukes cleared the bench.
- Redd Thompson Jr. scored his sixth and seventh points on a layup, Shane Feden knocked down a free throw, and Jarrell Pope capped off the JMU scoring with a layup.
- JMU maintained control the rest of the way, closing out with a 96-64 victory and a final 32-point margin.

- JMU's 55 first-half points are the most in 2024-25 and the highest total since scoring 63 against Keystone.
- Lindsay's 13 points is the eighth time this season the redshirt freshman has scored 10 points or more. Through 13 games, the guard leads the Dukes in scoring (13.4 ppg).
- The Dukes finished with 56 total rebounds, their highest total since corralling 51 at Michigan State on Nov. 4, 2023.
- JMU held a decisive advantage in points in the paint, finishing with 50 to Midway's 18.
- Thompson Jr. recorded a season and career-high of 7 points.
- JMU hit eight straight three-pointers in a half, tying their season-high. They also made eight in the first half against Jax State and Utah Valley.
- The Dukes shot a season-best of 20-of-31 (64.5%) from the floor in the first half.
- Taylor matched JMU highs in points (9) and rebounds (5).
- JMU recorded three runs of 10-0 or more, bringing its season total to eight. The Dukes are 4-1 in games they record a run of 10-0 or greater.

- Luke Anderson recorded a season-high eight rebounds while also scoring seven points. In his last four games, the redshirt senior from Lakeland, Fla., is averaging 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 7-of-17 (.411) from behind the arc.
