History of the Practice Facility
JMU golf's indoor and outdoor training facilities provide year-round opportunities for skill development. The indoor practice facility installed during the winter of 2009-10 includes a putting green, chipping area and an area for hitting for all clubs, including immediate video analysis available after each swing. In addition, the facility boasts a simulator for working on the game on various courses, while analyzing the swing in a competitive environment.
An outdoor short-game practice course located on JMU's campus was completed in 2010. Adjacent to the R2 campus parking lot off Port Republic Road, the venue includes short-iron, chipping and putting training areas. It was expanded in 2011 with additional neighboring space acquired to accommodate a restroom and changing facility.
JMU men's and women's golf teams use Spotswood Country Club, Heritage Oaks Golf Course and Lakeview Golf Course, all located in Harrisonburg or directly outside the city limits, as their home practice courses.

From the North and South:
-Take Exit 245 (Port Republic Road) from Interstate 81
-Turn west onto Port Republic Road (From I-81 Southbound, turn right. From I-81 Northbound, turn left)
-Turn right at the campus entrance onto Bluestone Drive
-Follow Bluestone Drive approximately a half mile
-Turn left at the first stoplight into parking Lot G
-Godwin Hall will be to the left
