About Hillside Courts
JMU men's and women's tennis compete primarily at the Hillside Courts along Duke Drive. There are six lighted competition courts in the middle of campus, making the facility readily accessible for students, faculty/staff and fans to attend home matches.
The courts were most recently resurfaced in summer of 2017. In 2015, wind screen artwork and court logos were added to improve presentation of the facility. Championship banners were added to the facility to commemorate the first women's tennis CAA championship in 2019 and the men's conference titles.
The East Campus Tennis Courts is an indoor facility next to the JMU Convocation Center, which the teams utilize during fall and winter months. Play at Hillside Courts normally begin in early March.
Directions
From Interstate 81
-Take Exit 247, Route 33 West onto East Market Street.
-At the stoplight, turn left onto Martin Luther King, Dr., (formerly Cantrell Avenue).
-Just after the second stoplight, turn left into Parking Lot C4.
NOTE: Campus gates limit access to Duke Drive during normal university hours (M-Th 7-7 & F 7-1). All tennis visitors must enter campus from MLK Drive during those times. Access from Duke Drive will be available during weekends. Parking in C4 is limited to commuter students during normal hours but will be available during all matches.
From Godwin Hall (locker rooms)
During weekends, exit the Godwin Hall parking lot at the stoplight and turn left onto Bluestone Drive. Turn right at the stoplight onto Duke Drive. Hillside Courts will be on the left. For access to parking, proceed to Paul Street and turn left. Turn left at stoplight onto Cantrell Avenue and take quick left into C-4 parking. During normal university hours, exit the Godwin Hall parking lot at the stoplight and turn right onto Bluestone Drive to exit campus. Turn right at stoplight onto Port Republic Road. Turn right at next stoplight onto South Main Street. Turn right at MLK Drive. Turn right into C-4 Parking Lot.
