HARRISONBURG, Va., Oct. 15, 2005 -- Freshman outside Kelsey McNamara (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) registered a personal-best 23 kills for the Dukes and sophomore middle Allyson Halls (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy) laced 13 kills to lead James Madison University volleyball to a five-game win against the visiting Northeastern Huskies. The Dukes rallied from a two-game deficit, taking the final three games of the match for the win.

In the first stanza the Dukes matched their kill total with errors (11-11) for a .000 attack rate and the Huskies registered a .300 mark (12-3-30) to take the game by a score of 30-20. Junior outside Whitney Turner (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) topped all scorers with four kills in the first game to lead the Huskies to the win. In game two Turner again lead the Huskies' attack, this time with six kills, and the Dukes registered five service errors as the Huskies took the frame, 30-28. McNamara, however, began her offensive onslaught in this match as she and Halls each registered five kills for the Dukes.Â

The Dukes came out in the third game firing as they took a 10-1 lead and never looked back. The Dukes held the Huskies in check as they out-hit Northeastern, .432-.079. McNamara again led the attack as she nearly matched the Huskies in total kills, knocking down eight, while the Huskies mustered 10 as a team. JMU junior right side Bayli Stillwell (Steamboat Springs, Colo./Steamboat Springs) also contributed to a 30-18 JMU win in game three as she added four kills on seven attempts with no errors (.571). Senior outside Brandi Genibrel (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson) registered a team-high four kills for the Huskies in the third stanza. JMU freshman setter Lauren Miles (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) assisted on 15 of Madison's 19 kills in the game.

Game four saw nearly an even match offensively with the Huskies hitting at a .182 mark (17-9-44) and the Dukes hitting .167 (13-6-42). McNamara's six kills once again led all players on the court and the Dukes took the third game 30-26.

In the fifth and deciding game the Dukes
