Sign Challenge Issued to the JMU Nation

JMU Athletics has issued a sign challenge to the JMU Nation for the Delaware game this Saturday at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to make signs that are within the allowable size of 24" x 36" for Bridgeforth Stadium and bring them on gameday to share with the crowd and TV viewers watching nationwide. The best and most creative sign will win a JMU Athletics Prize Pack and be featured by JMU Athletics as the Sign of the Game.
The signs should be appropriate and not contain foul or offensive language, as any inappropriate signs will not be allowed into the stadium. The prize pack includes a JMU drawstring bag, JMU t-shirt, a bobblehead and a gift card. "With JMU rival Delaware coming to town, we thought this would be a great way to encourage the JMU Nation to have fun and show their creativity," said Stephen Pugh, Director of Marketing.  Â
Last season, JMU changed its stadium policy, which now allows signs that are no larger than 24" x 36" to be brought into the stadium. "We saw the change as something that would allow fans to support the Dukes and have fun and be creative. The sign challenge is a good opportunity to promote this change in policy and encourage fans to bring signs into Bridgeforth, especially for TV games," said Mike Carpenter, Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing and Customer Relations.
Saturday's game against Delaware marks the first appearance by the Blue Hens at JMU since the renovations of Bridgeforth in 2011. Students that stay until the end of the game will receive a free coupon from Bojangles. Students can reserve their tickets at jmusports.com/students. Students can also begin earning points towards the new Dukes Rewards program by downloading and setting up the app on their smartphone.
