SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
- Radford enters Monday's contest with a 4-2 record in 2015-16. The Highlanders have won two straight, beating Prairie View A&M (64-56) and Penn State (86-74) after dropping a 76-62 decision against Siena.
- The Highlanders enter this contest riding their first two-game winning streak of the season and return home for just their second home game of the season after completing a three-game road trip.
- Senior guard Rashun Davis is pacing the Radford offense thus far, racking up a team-best 15.2 points per game and leading the Big South Conference with 6.5 assists per game.
SERIES HISTORY
- JMU holds an 11-2 lead in the two teams' 13-game all-time series, having not lost since the 1998-99 season, a winning streak that has lasted six games.
- The Dukes are 4-1 on the Highlanders' home court, but have won two in a row in Radford, bringing home a 78-57 win in their last visit on Dec. 11, 2010.
- In last year's matchup, then-junior guard Ron Curry hit a three-pointer from the right corner with 3.3 second left to give the Dukes a 74-71 win. Curry would finish with a game-high 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
LAST TIME OUT
- James Madison got double-doubles from junior guard Shakir Brown and junior forward Yohanny Dalembert and held off a late charge as the Dukes earned an 89-75 win at Marshall Friday evening at the Cam Henderson Center.
- Madison, which never relinquished the lead after the game's opening bucket, improved to 4-3 on the season, including a 2-1 mark away from home. The Thundering Herd fell to 0-3.
- Brown picked up his third double-double in just seven games, tallying 25 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, including six on the offensive end, both career highs. The Baltimore, Md., native needed just 12 shots on the evening, making eight shots from the field, including all three of his three-pointers, and going 6-for-7 from the charity stripe.
- Dalembert posted his first double-double of the year, notching career bests with 23 points and 15 boards. The combined efforts marked the first time that JMU had a pair of double-doubles in one game since Denzel Bowles (27p/10r) and Rayshawn Goins (11p/10r) accomplished the feat in a Jan. 24, 2011 overtime loss to Hofstra.
