HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Redshirt senior guard Precious Hall became just the third Duke in program history to reach the 2,000-point mark as she powered James Madison women's basketball (15-6, 8-2) to a 61-50 road win at Hofstra (8-12, 1-8 CAA) on Friday night.
Â
After an 11-0 Hofstra run to bridge the third and fourth quarters, Hall sank a 3-pointer from the corner to eclipse 2,000 career points and extend the JMU lead back to four (50-46) with 4:27 left on the clock. The Pride closed the gap to two twice more before a 9-0 Dukes run closed the game, including a 7-for-8 performance from the free-throw line.

Freshman guard Kamiah Smalls pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds while fellow freshman guard Lexie Barrier had a game-best five offensive boards. JMU converted 19 offensive boards into a 15-7 advantage in second-chance points.
