HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Athletics will celebrate various community partnerships as part of its annual Community Day festivities during Saturday's football gameday featuring JMU vs. ETSU. Community Day is presented by Morris Insurance.

JMU partners with the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County to highlight the organization and its partner agencies. UWHR volunteers will sell streamers at all gate entrances as well as throughout surrounding parking lots pregame.

All funds collected support UWHR programs and agencies with a portion of proceeds this year going to the United Way of Greater Houston to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Patrons can also support UWGH flood relief efforts by texting UWFLOOD to 41444 to make a donation.

The day will also feature JMU's 11th annual Day with the Dukes presented by Martin's Food when JMU Athletics and JMU psychology peers welcome Special Olympics Virginia for a fun day of interactive events involving student-athletes from multiple programs.

The defending national champions and nation's top-ranked team opened the 2017 season, presented by CarMax, on Saturday, Sept. 2 with a 34-14 victory at FBS ECU. JMU will play its home opener this Saturday, Sept. 9, against ETSU at 6 p.m. airing live on television on CSN Mid-Atlantic Plus and on digital platforms on MadiZONE HD SportsNet presented by the JMU Alumni Association.
