QUICK HITS
- James Madison returns to action for the first time in nearly a month on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Hofstra to Harrisonburg at 4 p.m. for the first of back-to-back home games to open 2022.
- The Dukes are coming off a long layoff, having last played on Dec. 11 in a 79-70 win against Radford. The Dukes' win over the Highlanders marked their third double-digit, second-half comeback this season (Eastern Ky., Wright State), as they erased a 14-point deficit with a 20-2 second half run. At 9-2, JMU is off to its best start since the 1986-87 season, when the Dukes started 10-1.
- The Atlantic Union Bank Center has been friendly confines for JMU, as the Dukes have started 6-0 at home for the first time since 2010-11. James Madison holds a 16-4 home record since opening the arena last season.
- JMU's seven Division I victories have been by a total of 27 points, with each victory being by single-digits. Six of the seven wins have been determined by five points or less and the Dukes have overcome a second-half deficit in all six of those wins.
- Graduate transfer Takal Molson leads the Dukes' balanced attack with 11.2 points per game, while redshirt junior Vado Morse (10.6) and graduate transfer Charles Falden (10.2) each average double figures.
- Redshirt freshman Justin Amadi grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds in the Radford win and has 58 total on the season (5.3/game).
- James Madison has taken better care of the basketball recently, with fewer than 15 turnovers in each of its last seven games. The Dukes now hold a 1.12 assist-to-turnover ratio, while holding opponents to just a .72 ratio.
- JMU has 116 total steals in 2021-22, led by Morse with 18 and Amadi with 17. Six players total at least 10 steals on the season.

- After starting 8-5 on the season, Hofstra dropped a tight conference opener at William & Mary, 63-62 on Dec. 29, before seeing its next three games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
- The Pride are shooting 46.2% from the field, eclipsing the 50% mark in a game five times this season.Graduate student Zach Cooks leads the powerful Hofstra offense with 16.1 points per game, pacing five players that all average double-figures. Hofstra's .778 team free throw percentage is also the best in the league.

- Hofstra leads the overall series between the two schools by a 22-15 margin, but the Dukes picked up back-to-back wins in Harrisonburg last season on Feb. 13-14, winning each game by four points as they grabbed victories of 93-89 and 74-70.
- In the second contest last season, JMU held off multiple runs from the Pride to seal the win, with then-freshman Terrence Edwards leading the way with 15 points and eight rebounds, adding four assists and a steal across 25 minutes with only one turnover.
