HARRISONBURG, Va. - Twelve different players found the scoresheet on Saturday night as James Madison returned home with an emphatic 106-43 win over Gallaudet in non-conference men's basketball at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
After a slow start, the Dukes (8-3) found their legs, using 13 straight points in the first half and hitting 15 of their first 22 shots in the second half to blow things open for good.
Senior guard
Vado Morse led a balanced scoring effort with 22 points, hitting six three-pointers for the first time in his collegiate career as he matched his season scoring high.
Graduate forward
Alonzo Sule carded the first double-double of his JMU career, scoring 17 points and grabbing a game-high 11 boards, while sophomore
Terrence Edwards had 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Sophomore forward
Justin Amadi needed just 16 minutes to score 12 points and pull down six rebounds, hitting five of his six shots to raise his field goal percentage to 73.9% in 2022-23. His current career mark of 67.3% is on pace to shatter the JMU program record.
In all, the Dukes had 31 assists on 39 baskets, their most assists in a single game since setting a program record with 39 last season against Carlow.
Gallaudet guard Rory Lewis led the way for the Bison with 11 points to go with three rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
The Dukes started slow, hitting just three of their first nine shots on the evening as they held onto an 8-7 lead, but Edwards then drove for a layup that started a 13-0 run. Five different players scored across the stretch to give JMU a 21-7 lead with 8:46 left and the Dukes would lead by double figures the rest of the way.
JMU continued to expand the lead, with eight more points in a row ballooning the advantage to as many as 27 before the teams went to the half at 45-20.
Second Half
JMU came out of the break in stronger fashion, hitting five of its next eight three-pointers and 15 of 22 total attempts, eventually using a 19-0 run across 3:08 to take an 82-31 lead at the 11:12 mark.
Gallaudet would only close the gap under 50 once more as the Dukes saw out the victory.

- The Dukes' lineup on Saturday night (Morse, Freidel, Molson, Wooden, Amadi) was their eighth different starting five this season.

Takal Molson stuffed the stat sheet with seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals despite hitting just one of his four shots.
