Â
The NCAA launched new revenue distribution initiatives in spring of 2020 with qualifying criteria calling for a single-year APR score of 985. JMU hit a single-year mark of 990, its second best over the last six years. JMU outpaced the national average of 987. Eleven of 17 programs hitting a perfect 1,000 and football achieving its best mark in program history at 993.
Â
Multi-year APR scores encapsulate a four-year term and serve as the publicly-released data used by the NCAA to award APR team awards and to determine penalties, if applicable. Awards and penalties are currently paused due to APR interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. Six different JMU programs posted their best multi-year APR score in program history for the most recent four-year cohort (2017-18 through 2020-21). JMU had 16 of 17 programs reach the 960 department benchmark.
