JMU to Host Meet the Dukes Day on August 20

HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison Athletics is excited to welcome fans back this fall, kicking off the year with the annual Meet the Dukes Day, presented by Martin's, on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 6-7 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium.

This interactive event is free to the public and will be the first opportunity for fans to meet student-athletes from JMU's 2022-23 sports programs. The evening will feature on-field activities, games and autograph stations on Zane Showker Field.

Fans may enter the stadium through Gate B and are encouraged to park in G-Lot (near Godwin Hall) or in P-Lot near the Plecker Athletic Performance Center for the quickest access to Bridgeforth.

While at the event, parents can digitally register their kids 8th grade and below for the JMU Dukes Puppy Pound, presented by Chick-fil-A Harrisonburg. This will be the first opportunity for Puppy Pound members to pick up this year's t-shirt and membership card. Members of the Athletics Ticket Office and the Duke Club will be in attendance to provide information on season and single-game ticket options. The Duke Club is the fundraising arm of JMU Athletics and all donations help support JMU student-athlete scholarships and the general athletics operating budget.

There will be a photo station for fans to show their JMU Pride and inflatable games will be set up for additional entertainment. Teams will be on hand to interact with fans in activity stations on the field.
In the event of inclement weather a decision will be made Saturday afternoon and will be communicated through JMUSports.com and also on JMUSports social channels.

JMU football begins the 2022 season, presented by CarMax, on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Middle Tennessee State in the first FBS game at Bridgeforth Stadium. Season tickets and single-game tickets to the inaugural Sun Belt season are on sale now and can be purchased at JMUTickets.com, by phone at (540) 568-3853 or by visiting the JMU Athletics Ticket Office, located in the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
