BALTIMORE – James Madison men's soccer redshirt junior 
Rodrigo Robles will be one of two student-athletes representing the Sun Belt Conference as he attends the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum (SALF) in Baltimore, Md. from April 13-16.
 
Robles has served this past year as the Student-Athlete Wellness chair for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at JMU and has spent the past three seasons surveying the midfield at Sentara Park.
 
The NCAA SALF engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend the forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, a refined understanding of the relationship among personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives, and the valuable role of SAAC's
 
The following learning outcomes will be takeaways for Robles to return to campus with:
	- Will develop the confidence, skills, and values to positively impact the campus and community.
- Be engaged in a transformational experience by exploring, discussing, and applying a wide range of personal and leadership development theories and attributes.
- Interpret personal attribute assessments and generate personal leadership philosophies to live and lead in an authentic matter.
 
Additionally, recently hired Assistant AD Cassidy Clements will also attend the event as co-facilitator for the Green Team with Ahmad Boyd from Northwestern. Clements is one of 20 facilitators selected among those who are employed at an NCAA member school, conference office, or the NCAA national office. Those selected have been required to go through at least 120 hours of interactive facilitation practice, including participating in the NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop. She will be working closely with participants to provide an engaging programming experience and lead teams in open dialogue about a wide range of topics to instill and emphasize themes of personal leadership development.
