HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison volleyball ran its winning streak to five, pushing past Coastal Carolina 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 27-25 on Saturday afternoon inside the Convocation Center.

JMU improved to 10-8 overall and 5-3 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Coastal Carolina slipped to 8-11 and 4-4 in league action. The Dukes finished with more blocks (10-6), digs (72-62), and service aces (9-6) than the Chanticleers.

Brenya Reid continued her torrid stretch as the junior finished with a career-high 28 kills and added 12 digs for her fifth double-double in seven matches.
Julia McNeley recorded a career-best 22 digs, while
Jaydyn Clemmer (11) and
Madilyn O'Toole pitched in with double-digit digs.

Agata Lesiak paced Coastal Carolina with 17 kills while Jalyn Stout recorded her 11th triple- double of the season with 16 kills, 24 assists, and 11 digs.

How It Happened
First Set: James Madison 25-23
- JMU led by a score of 20-17 before Coastal responded with three straight to tie the score.
- Kills from Reid and Annie Smith pushed the Dukes' lead to 22-20 before the Chanticleers answered with three straight.
- JMU picked up a side-out kill from Reid to tie the score at 23-23 before a CCU attacking error and a block from Smith and Rebecca Watkins gave the Dukes a 25-23 win.
Second Set: Coastal Carolina 25-23
- The Dukes trailed 10-9 before ripping off four straight to take a 13-10 lead.
- JMU led 17-14 but Coastal Carolina used a 4-0 run to go ahead 18-17.
- The Chanticleers held a 22-20 lead but a service error and ace from Reid tied the score at 22-22. After the teams traded points, CCU's Lesiak ripped two straight kills to give the visitors the set and evening the match at one apiece.
Third Set: James Madison 25-20
- The Dukes used a pair of aces from Reid to jump ahead 11-6.
- JMU continued to pad its lead, going ahead 20-12 on a kill from Smith and forcing a Coastal Carolina timeout.
- The Dukes put away the Chanticleers 25-20 on a kill from Olivia Vance.
Fourth Set: James Madison 27-25
- The two teams battled to the media timeout, with the Dukes holding a slim 15-14 lead at the break.
- JMU jumped ahead 20-17 on another kill from Reid, but the Chanticleers were able to battle back and tie the set at 23-23.
- Stout evened the score at 25-25, but a block from Watkins and Ayen Nhial and a Melisa Ilter termination were enough to put away the Chanticleers.

- With the win, James Madison holds a 6-4 edge over Coastal Carolina in the all-time series.
- Reid's 28 kills are the most for any JMU player since Miëtte Veldman had 30 at Marshall on Nov. 4, 2022.
- Reid has the six-highest single-game totals for kills by any JMU player this season. She leads the Dukes in kills (189) and kills per set (4.20). The 4.20 kills per set is second in the Sun Belt.
- Smith sits fourth in the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.357).
