ANNAPOLIS, Md. – An individual win and a relay win coupled with multiple program top-10s highlighted day two for James Madison swim & dive at the Navy Invitational inside Lejeune Hall.
Sophomore
Madison Wimmer swam a time of 1:48.75 to win the 200 Free, before being on a team with freshman
Tiffany Folcomer and seniors
Alex Volk and
Jamie Cornwell that swam a time of 7:22.78 to win the 800 Free Relay.
Three Dukes entered the top 10 in a variety of events, beginning with sophomore
Maddy Coombs. She entered the top 10 of the 400 IM in prelims before ultimately finishing second in the finals with a time of 4:18.44 that placed her in third. Finishing seventh in the A Final of the 100 Breast, freshman
Emma Dougherty swam a time of 1:03.24 to move into eighth place. The final top-10 time of the night was Cornwell, as she placed fourth in the A Final of the 100 Back with a time of 54.96 that put her in ninth place.
To begin the night, the Dukes finished fourth in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.22 coming from the team of freshman
Maria Costa, Dougherty, senior
Ann Chappell Ellington and
Jamie Cornwell.
Five Dukes competed in the 100 Fly finals, with sophomore
Alli Straub leading the way with a fifth-place finish in the B Final behind a time of 56.57.
