GREENWOOD, Ind. –
Peyton McDaniel and
Kseniia Kozlova were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, the CSC announced Tuesday.
The duo has earned All-District honors for the third year in a row, with McDaniel moving on to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.
In order for a student-athlete to be eligible for All-District, they must have: A minimum grade point average of 3.50 or better and have competed in at least 90% of team games played OR have started at least 66% of the total number of team games played.
McDaniel is averaging 16.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, leading the Dukes in both categories as JMU faces Belmont in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday. For her output on the court and dedication in the classroom, the guard was presented with the Sun Belt Conference's Elite Award for women's basketball – given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating on the final day for each of the SBC's championships.
Kozlova – an All-Sun Belt First Team selection – is coming off back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 boards through the first two games of the WBIT. The redshirt senior has scored in double figures 28 times this season and has posted nine double-doubles, including three in the last five games.
Voting for the Academic All-America® Team is underway and will be unveiled on Tuesday, April 1. Former Duke Anna Sonoga is the only player to be named to the Academic All-America® Team, earning the honors in 1980 and 1981.
