HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison lacrosse has ended the regular season 13th in the latest IWLCA Division I Poll, as announced Monday morning.
This follows a 1-0 week for the Dukes, who played their final game of the regular season, beating East Carolina in overtime on Saturday, 14-13 in Greenville.
The Dukes sit 12th in the NCAA RPI and have faced five opponents in the top-10. JMU holds the fourth-highest position of any mid-major team in the country, only behind Princeton (fourth), Yale (10th), and Penn (11th), and the four setbacks this season have only been against top-10 teams.
The Dukes are ranked 14th in the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20 this week.
JMU finished the regular season 12-4, including a perfect 6-0 mark in American Athletic Conference Play, making them the outright regular-season champions. JMU ranked first in the AAC in goals per game (17.83), goals allowed per game (7.22), draw controls per game (22.67), shots per game (38.83), and save percentage (.511).
#13 JMU will begin the quest for an AAC Championship as it takes on No. 4 Vanderbilt in the Semifinals on Thursday, May 1. Opening draw is set for 4:30 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.
