LOUISVILLE, Ky.- James Madison softball two-way standout Payton List took home 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.
List, the lone representative from the Dukes, earned Third Team All-Region in 2024 following her SBC Freshman of the Year campaign.
She also notched her second First Team All-Sun Belt selection prior to the Dukes' run in the 2025 SBC Championship.
The redshirt sophomore, who is coming off a career year, earned the pitcher/utility spot as she led JMU in a multitude of categories at the plate and in the circle, posting top 10 marks within the Sun Belt Conference ranks.
Playing in all 54 games, the Beaver, Pa., product led the team and tallied career highs in batting average (.380), hits (60), runs batted in (34) and home runs (14), while producing 12 wins in the circle with a team-leading 3.07 earned run average over 29 appearances, striking out 74 batters in 107 innings of work.
This selection marks the 15th straight season that a James Madison student-athlete has been named to an All-Region team, and the first second-team honor since Kayla Boseman and Emily Phillips got the nod following the 2022 campaign.
List is also the 16th player in program history to appear on an All-Region team in at least two straight seasons and the first since 2021.
