PK Arredondo Joins Softball For 2026 Season

HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison softball Head Coach Loren LaPorte announced the second signing of the Dukes' transfer class on Friday afternoon with the addition of junior college standout PK Arredondo.

Arredondo spent the first two years of her collegiate career at St. Johns River State College, where she eclipsed 200 hits, 153 runs driven in, and 50 home runs in her career, along with a .464 batting average.

In her freshman campaign, the Center Hill, Fla., product led the Vikings to their first-ever NJCAA Division II national championship title. Â

"Our staff is thrilled to welcome Princess Arredondo to the family," Coach LaPorte said. "PK is a fierce competitor who will bring a lot of power to the lineup. She is very versatile on the field and can catch and play a corner position."

- Had a .959 clip on the field in 146 total chances with 56 assists

- Helped St. Johns River State to the first NJCAA DII National Championship in program history

- MVP of 2024 NJCAA DII World Series
- Named FCSAA DII Softball Player of the Week on March 12, 2024
- Compiled 85 hits with 37 for extra bases, hitting a team-leading 25 home runs
- Hit .483 during conference play, while slugging 1.034 with 15 home runs
High School:
- Four-year varsity member at South Sumter High School
- Finished her senior year with a .558 batting average
Personal:
- Daughter of Jacinto and Rosa Arredondo
- Has four older brothers who all played baseball in junior college: Jacinto Jr., Diego, Hector, and Royce
- Oldest brother Jacinto played baseball at Wallace Community College and the University of Tampa, then was drafted to the Boston Red Sox where he spent three years in the minor leagues
- Brother Hector played at Broward Community College and then transferred to Henry Ford College
- Plans to major in business management
