Softball Releases 2025 Fall Slate

HARRISONBURG, Va - James Madison softball will play eight exhibition games against regional foes to make up its 2025 fall schedule, Head Coach Loren LaPorte announced on Friday morning.

Of these eight contests, JMU will host six in Harrisonburg with two doubleheaders scheduled across the playing field.
Â
The Dukes kick off fall ball action on Sunday, Sept. 21, when they host Ferrum College at Veterans Memorial Park.
Frostburg St. will then make the trip to Harrisonburg for the second-straight fall to compete in a Sept. 28 game.

The following week, James Madison will take its lone road trip of the fall season for a twin-bill set against Liberty and Lynchburg at Kamphuis Field in Lynchburg.

Virginia will make an appearance at Veterans Memorial Park when it comes to scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 10. Shepherd will do the same the following week, taking on the Dukes in Harrisonburg on Oct. 17.

JMU will wrap up its fall season with a doubleheader scheduled against Bridgewater and Mary Baldwin on Sunday, Oct. 19.

The Dukes finished the 2025 season going 28-26 (11-13 SBC), falling to Coastal Carolina in the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Troy, Ala. In a career year, Payton List earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors, as well as a Second Team NFCA All-Region nod.

Transfers PK Arredondo, Allie Braly, Kendra Lewis, and Lisey St. Jean will join the six-member freshman class of Lucy Bertram, Emma Jo Evans, BK Lanier, Mia Tribul, Reaghan Warner, and Aynalem Zoet as the newcomers who will join the squad this fall. Â
