HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison junior Kennedy Louisell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) continued her torrid start to the 2025 campaign, tallying a career-high 27 kills to lead the volleyball team to a four-set win over Princeton in front of 745 fans on Saturday night at the Convocation Center.
Louisell finished with a .469 attacking percentage, tallying only four errors on 49 swings to go with her 27 kills. Despite hitting .299, Princeton (2-1) could not slow down JMU (2-3), as the Dukes hit .324 and picked up 10 service aces and nine blocks.
Grace Wenrich (Watkinsville, Ga./Oconee County) earned the start at setter for JMU, as the senior tallied a career-high 29 assists. Rebecca Waktins added 23 assists and nine digs, while libero Julia McNeley (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart) led the team with 19 digs. Ana Toumazatos reached 10 kills for the second time in her career, and Addie Norman added nine kills.
For Princeton, Taylor Clarke (15), Valerie Nutakor (13), and Erin McNair (12) tallied double-digit kills, with Clarke hitting .448. Sydney Draper picked up 46 assists, and Sydney Bold had 15 digs.
