Women's Hoops Returns to Host Louisiana

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's basketball welcomes Louisiana for a Thursday night tilt in Harrisonburg as Sun Belt Conference play continues. Action inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center is slated for 6 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

LAST TIME VS. THE RAGIN' CAJUNS

Trailing by 13 points (20-7) inside the Cajundome late in the first quarter, James Madison women's basketball shot 17-of-24 (.708) in the following two quarters, while Kseniia Kozlova tied her career high of 24 points to help lead the Dukes to a 68-63 comeback triumph over Louisiana on Jan. 2, 2025.
JMU shot 49.0% (24-of-49) and 47.4% (9-of-19) from three to upend the Ragin' Cajuns.
Kozlova finished 9-of-14 (.643) from the field to go along with eight rebounds, two steals, and a season-high two blocks. Moreover, 22 of her 24 points came in the final three quarters. Peyton McDaniel hit 4-of-5 (.800) from deep for 14 points and came away with eight rebounds. Ro Scott registered 16 points off the bench, knocking down 3-of-6 (.500) from long range.

THE DUKES VS. THE SUN BELT

James Madison holds a 105-73 (.590) record against current Sun Belt Conference foes and is 56-16 (.778) since joining the league in 2022.
Moreover, the Dukes are 50-14 (.781) in regular-season league matchups and had won 21 consecutive regular-season tilts prior to their 83-74 overtime loss to Marshall on Dec. 20, 2025.
James Madison has not lost a home game against a Sun Belt foe since dropping a 73-62 result to Georgia State on Feb. 15, 2024.

Playing her fifth season of collegiate basketball, Peyton McDaniel has placed herself in the top 15 of career rankings in eight categories: three-point attempts (1st - 904), points (2nd - 2,072), three-pointers (2nd - 315), three-point attempts per game (3rd - 6.41), field goal attempts (3rd - 1,710), field goals made (4th - 738), games played (T-6th - 140), and rebounds (13th - 925).

MILESTONE TRACKER

With 2,072 career points, Peyton McDaniel is 50 points away from passing Tamera Young (2004-08) for third in all-time scoring at JMU, tallying 2,121 in her career.
If McDaniel maintains her career scoring average of 14.7 ppg, she'll reach 2,122 points in four games.
For Ashanti Barnes, with 989 points across her time at Old Dominion (2021-22) and JMU (2023-Present), she is 11 shy of reaching 1,000 in her Division I career.
Additionally, with 940 points at JMU, Barnes would need 60 more to become the 35th member of the program's 1,000-point club.

Through Jan. 26 games, JMU owns five top-75 marks nationally: rebounds per game (26th - 42.14), rebound margin (30th - +7.8), defensive rebounds per game (36th - 28.6), scoring offense (74th - 73.0), and blocks per game (75th - 4.0).
Individually, Ashanti Barnes is 17th in rebounds (209), Peyton McDaniel is 20th in points (404), Brianna McLeod is 26th in blocks (29), and Bree Robinson is tied for 26th in steals (56).

HOME SWEET HOME

JMU is 64-23 (.736) since the Atlantic Union Bank Center opened at the start of the 2020-21 season. Moreover, Head Coach Sean O'Regan is 124-33 (.790) when playing in Harrisonburg.
The Dukes went 16-2 inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center in 2024-25, marking consecutive seasons with at least a dozen home victories. Additionally, the 16 home wins were the most by the program since the 2018-19 season when James Madison produced an 18-1 record at the Convocation Center.

All parking pass holders — both Spot-Specific and Reserved — will enter through the North Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. All reserved parking opens two (2) hours before tip-off.

General Parking is located in the adjacent surface lots (C12, D3, and R4) as well as the South Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. General parking is available beginning two (2) hours before game time. General parking is free of charge, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
