Brett Beecham joined James Madison as a Communications Assistant in July 2023 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in May 2024.
In his current role, he serves as the primary media relations contact for the volleyball, men's basketball, and men's and women's golf programs, along with assisting with football and other sports.
Brett is responsible for media guides, game notes, game programs, social media and website updates for his respective teams. He also works with local, regional and national media outlets to promote his programs.
Prior to joining James Madison, Beecham worked as a student assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2022-23, where he served as the primary communications contact for their men’s golf program along with assisting with men's basketball, women's soccer, softball, and the football programs. He graduated from UNL with a bachelor's degree in Sports Media and Communications in May 2023.
Beecham, the son of Leigh Mann, is a native of Papillion, Nebraska, has two siblings - Blair (21) and Ben (19). He currently resides in Harrisonburg.
