WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT GEORGE MASON 3-0

FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 2, 2005 -- James Madison posted its second consecutive shutout Sunday afternoon as the Dukes beat George Mason 3-0 in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer at George Mason Stadium
The Dukes improved to 7-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in league play. George Mason fell to 5-6-0 overall and 1-2 in the CAA.
It didn't take long for the Dukes to put the first goal on the board, as senior Karly Skladany (Westerville, Ohio (St. Francis DeSales) was in front of the net on a corner kick and knocked in a rebounded ball past goalkeeper Kasey Davenport 10:22 into the match. Â Freshman Kimmy Germain (McLean, Va./Langley) was credited with the assist.
Sophomore Annie Lowry (Butler, Pa./Butler) was JMU's spark on offense in the second half as she scored two goals, the first in the 76th minute on a pass from freshman Teri Maykoski (Fairfax, Va./Robinson).
Lowry's second goal was into the left side of the net past Davenport from 10-yards out assisted by sophomore Vanessa Brizzi (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park). The goal came with just 1:29 left in the game
JMU senior goalkeeper Jessica Hussey (Kanata, Ontario/Holy Trinity) tied her season high with seven saves and added to her school record with her 18th career complete-game shutout.
