HARRISONBURG, Va., Aug. 26, 2007 ? Junior Melissa Walls (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) and freshman Dolores de Rooij (Vlaardingen, The Netherlands/Erasmiaans) each scored goals to lead James Madison University to a 2-1 win over the University at Albany on Sunday afternoon at the JMU Field Hockey Complex.

JMU, ranked 11th in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association top 20 poll, improved to 2-0 for the 2007 season. Albany, which is receiving votes in the poll, fell to 1-1.
Walls had the first and game-winning goal for the Dukes, her first game winner of the season after having three a year ago. Her goal came with five minutes remaining in the first half and came on a corner play set up by her two sisters. Junior Lauren Walls (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) had the assist after pushing the ball left to Melissa. Junior Ashley Walls (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) initiated the penalty corner for JMU.
The second goal for the Dukes came five minutes into the second half. De Rooij drove the ball from right to left across the circle and fired in her shot from the left side of the cage. It was her first career goal at JMU.
Albany pulled within one just three minutes later. Freshman Sarah Deane (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) drove the field on a breakaway opportunity. She passed to sophomore Nicole Savage (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./James M. Coughlin) for the scoring opportunity to pull the Great Danes within one.
Albany had several chances to tie the score and had three second-half corners, compared to none for the Dukes. However, JMU managed to hold on for the v
