HARRISONBURG, Va., Jan. 12, 2008 ? James Madison University won 11 of 16 events en route to victories over the University of Delaware and Virginia Military Institute in a women's swimming and diving double dual meet on Saturday afternoon in JMU's Savage Natatorium.

JMU defeated Delaware 182-116 to improve to 2-3 in the CAA. The Dukes also topped VMI 237-4 to improve to 5-4 overall, giving JMU its first winning record in two seasons. Delaware also defeated VMI 254-4 in the meet.

Sophomore P.J. Naber (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) finished first in three races. She won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.65, the 50 free in 24.63 seconds, and the 100 free in 53.93 seconds.

Freshman Morgan McCarthy (New Castle, Del./St. Mark's) also had three event wins with individual feats in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.68 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.26.Â

McCarthy also teamed with freshman Lindsey Stevenson (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin), sophomore Christina Gennari (Westerville, Ohio/Trinity Catholic), and junior Meghan Heil (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) to win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:51.49.

In addition to the relay, Gennari also claimed the 200 fly in 2:11.46.

Freshman Emily Konieczny (West Springfield, Mass./Granby) had two first-place finishes. She toped her best time in the 1,000 freestyle for the second straight week, winning the event with a time of 10:29.86. She also won the 500 free in 5:07.71.Â

JMU's had two other individual victories. One came from freshman Erika Lupacchino (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) with a 2:31.86 in the 200 breaststroke. The other came in the 100 breaststroke with freshman Kristen Wolla (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) finishing in 1:09.60.
