#20 LOYOLA EDGES #16 LACROSSE TEAM 10-9

BALTIMORE, Md., March 21, 2009 -- Cara Filippelli scored three goals, including the game-winner with under 5:00 remaining, as 20th-ranked Loyola slipped by number 16 James Madison with a 10-9 win at Geppi-Aikens Field.
The Greyhounds upped their record to 6-1 while JMU dropped to 4-3 with its second straight loss to a top 20 team.
JMU led 3-1 late in the first half before Filippelli closed the period with a goal to send Loyola into halftime trailing only 3-2.
The Greyhounds opened the second period with two scores in the first 3:29. Abby Rehfuss scored at the 28:12 mark then earned an assist on a goal by Grace Gavin at 26:31 as Loyola took its first lead at 4-3.
JMU played catch-up the rest of the day, tying the game four times, at 4-4, 6-6, 8-8 and 9-9, but the Dukes were never able to go ahead.
Filippelli's unassisted score with 4:57 to play was the difference, putting Loyola ahead to stay at 10-9.
Other multiple-goal scorers for Loyola were Gavin with two goals and two assists and Meg Taylor with two goals and an assist.
