NEWARK, Del., Nov. 3, 2012 – The James Madison swimming and diving team won 11 of the 12 women's events, including all three relays to turn in a dominating performance on day one of the Colonial Athletic Association Pod Meet in Newark, Del., on Saturday.

Joining JMU at the four-team meet were teams from William & Mary, Delaware and UNCW. Official team scores were not available.

Six athletes combined to win eight individual titles for the Dukes on Saturday with junior swimmer Kelsey Holmgaard (Roanoke, Va./George Mason) and senior diver Kimberly Helfrich (Fort Belvoir, Va./West Springfield) claiming two titles each.

Holmgaard claimed her victories in the 200- and 400-yard individual medley. She timed a 2:05.82 to blow away the field in the 200 IM while touching the wall at 4:29.09 to win the 400 event. The Dukes swept the top three spots in the 400 with junior Morgan Johnson (Woodstock, Ga./Woodstock) taking second (4:33.43) and sophomore Aimee Hooper (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) claiming third (4:35.23). Holmgaard's time was a career-best and the eighth-best time in school history.

Helfrich continued her excellent performance during the early part of her senior season as she won both the one- and three-meter diving events. The fourth-year Duke scored a 287.95 to lead Madison to three of the top four spots on the one-meter board. Sophomore Alex Savage (Carrolton, Texas/Lewisville Hebron) claimed second (280.32) and freshman Carly Alexander (Plantation, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) came in fourth (258.60).

In the three-meter event, Helfrich scored a 322.50 to claim her sixth first-place finish in six events this season. Savage was second with a 281.05.

Other individual event winners included senior Andrea Criscuolo (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant), sophomores Sin Hye Won (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and Susanne Gingher (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) and freshman Camilla Czulada (Sinking Springs, Pa./Wilson). Won finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.79. Gingher was the top finisher in the 50-yard freestyle (23.80), while Czulada picked up her first career event win with a top billing in the 200 freestyle (1:54.32). Criscuolo was the first to touch the wall in the 100 butterfly, timing a 57.29. Her sister, sophomore Melissa Criscuolo (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant) finished second (58.29).
