HARRISONBURG, Va. – Just 1:52 into overtime, William & Mary's Cammie Lloyd scored the game-winning goal as No. 17 James Madison field hockey (11-4, 3-2 CAA) fell 4-3 to the Tribe (7-8, 3-2 CAA) in Colonial Athletic Association action on Friday night, snapping a five-game win-streak.

Junior goalkeeper Sara Kraeutlersaved Lloyd's original shot, but it ricocheted back to Estelle Hughes, who gave it back to Lloyd for the high shelf score. The goal capped a stretch of 41:33 where the Tribe outscored the Dukes 4-1.

All three overtime shot attempts came from William & Mary, though JMU finished with a 12-11 overall edge. The Dukes also earned six penalty corners to the Tribe's four, marking the first time this season JMU has lost when winning the corner contest.

JMU held the 2-0 lead early off goals by junior Hannah Hall and sophomore Melissa Wilken, but the Tribe scored the next three within a 5:50 span bridging the halves to take a 3-2 lead. Hall led all Dukes with three points after assisting on junior Melanie Kusakavitch's game-tying corner deflection in the 42nd minute.

The Dukes conclude their home slate on Sunday, Oct. 23 with a noon match-up against No. 7 Louisville.

DOUBLE DOSE OF HELP
Both junior McKenzie Ridgely and sophomore Ashley Gippe tallied the second assists of their careers. Ridgely's assist on Hannah Hall's opening goal marked the second straight game she has been credited with a helper.

  IN-STATE BATTLES
Tonight marked JMU's first loss to a fellow Commonwealth program in 2016. Coming into the night, the Dukes had been 5-0 against other Virginia programs. They will face one more in-state battle with No. 9 Virginia on the road to close out the regular season.
 CAA LANDSCAPE
JMU is currently in third place in the CAA standings. A win at Hofstra next Friday night would secure the Dukes a spot in the league tournament, hosted by the highest seed Nov. 4-6.
