QUICK HITS
- Sunday is the final Duke Dog Reading Day of the 2015-16 season. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as doors open at 12:30 p.m. For parking information for Sunday's game, click here.Â
- Before the start of Sunday's game, the senior class of 2016 will be recognized for all their accomplishments throughout their careers at JMU. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early, as the festivities will begin before 2 p.m.
- As Dukes, the 2016 senior class has compiled a 104-26 record to date with three straight regular-season titles and two CAA Championships.
- JMU enters the contest riding a 14-game win streak that began on Jan.8, including their most recent 77-41 win at UNCW, giving them full rights to the CAA regular-season title. The Dukes have won the CAA regular-season title and earned the No. 1 seed for the league tournament for three straight years.
- Senior forward Destiny Jones led the way in Friday's match-up with career highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds. She entered the contest averaging 2.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game .Â
- Elon heads to the Convo coming off a 62-45 win over Delaware on Friday night.Â
- Sunday's game will be broadcast on Sirius 113 and XM 202 through HSRN as part of the CAA's radio package.
- FORMAT:Â Instead of two 20-minute halves, women's basketball games will now have four 10-minute periods with an intermission between the first and second periods and the third and fourth periods as well as a 15-minute halftime intermission.
- FOULS:Â A player will be awarded two free throws for each common foul committed by a team starting with the fifth team foul in each period - there are no more 1-and-1 situations. Team foul counts will reset at the beginning of each period.
- TEAM-CALLED TIMEOUTS:Â Each team will have four timeouts to be used during the course of the game (three 30-second timeouts and one full 60-second timeout). Three timeouts carry over to the second half; if no timeout is taken in the first half, a team loses one 30-second timeout. If the game goes past regulation, one 30-second timeout is awarded for each extra period, plus the remaining second-half timeouts.
- MEDIA TIMEOUTS (2:45 in length):Â There will be seven media timeouts during regulation time: three prior to halftime and four after halftime. The intermission between the first and second periods as well as the intermission between the third and fourth periods will count as media timeouts. Each period will have one media timeout at either the first team-called timeout of the period OR the first dead ball at or below the five-minute mark. A floating media timeout will take place during either the third or fourth period at the first team-called timeout. This will not eliminate the set media timeout of that period.
