Dukes Drop 2-0 Battle at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas scored a goal on either side of halftime on Friday night to hand James Madison a 2-0 defeat in non-conference women's soccer action at Razorback Field. The loss dropped the Dukes to 3-2, while Arkansas improved to 3-2.

JMU, playing in its first road match of the season, racked up 11 shots on the evening, led by four from junior forward Steffi Page, but Razorbacks took advantage of their 13 shots in the victory. The loss snapped the Dukes' three-match winning streak.

HOW THEY SCORED
27' | Taylor Malham opened the scoring for the Razorbacks just before the half-hour mark, poking in a ball from close range to make it 1-0.
74' | Katie Kienstra closed the scoring with just under 17 minutes to play, putting home a pass from Carly Hoke to put Arkansas up, 2-0.

- Page led the Dukes with four shots on the evening, but seven different JMU players tallied at least one attempt on the evening, with junior Brittany Borum notching a pair.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Miller tallied four saves for the Dukes, while Rachel Harris matched her total for Arkansas.
- Despite the scoreline, the Dukes handled themselves well in the second half, leading Arkansas in shots by a 7-6 margin after the break and collecting a pair of corner kicks to the Razorbacks' one.
