Dukes Take Down Tigers

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison field hockey picked up a 3-1 win over Towson on Friday evening. The Dukes are 5-3 at home this season with one more home game left to play.

It was a fast start for the Dukes (6-10, 2-3) who tallied the first goal in the first six minutes of the game. Towson (1-16, 0-6) was limited to just two shots in the opening frame and just one on goal, which Caitlin Nelson saved to keep JMU ahead 1-0. JMU continued to hold the Tigers off and keep the ball within the offensive circle where they tallied two more goals in the second half. Towson was able to get on frame and score in the final seconds, but JMU took the win 3-1.

JMU concludes their 2018 regular season schedule on Sunday, October 28 when they host William & Mary. The Dukes will also honor four seniors before the game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
