DURHAM, N.C. - No. 11 Duke erupted in the second half on Sunday evening, scoring five times after the break to pull away from James Madison as the Blue Devils handed JMU a 6-0 defeat in non-conference women's soccer action at Koskinen Stadium.

The Dukes (2-6) faced constant pressure from the high-powered Blue Devil (5-1-1) offense, holding Duke without an offensive goal until after halftime despite 17 first-half shots. The shot deficit was smaller in the second half at just 12-4, but the Blue Devils capitalized on a handful of defensive errors to sprint away after the first-half own goal.

Alexandra Blom added three saves against six shots on goal across the final 22 minutes. Five different players scored goals for Duke.

The Dukes will remain on the road next week for their final two non-conference matches before heading into their Colonial Athletic Association slate, traveling to Liberty on Thursday, Sept. 19 (6 p.m.) and heading south to LSU on Sunday, Sept. 22 (2 p.m.).
