CHARLESTON, S.C. — Senior
Jaylin Carodine recorded her third-career double-double as she led the James Madison women's basketball team to a 64-55 win over the College of Charleston Sunday afternoon at TD Arena. The Dukes improve to 8-9 (4-2 CAA) while the Cougars fall to 10-7 (2-4 CAA).
Carodine registered career-bests in both points (17) and rebounds (16). The Bowie, Md. native finished the day shooting 60% (6-10) from the floor.
Kiki Jefferson added 14 points for the Dukes while
Madison Green and
Jamia Hazell chipped in 11 points apiece.
Statistically Speaking

Annalicia Goodman pulled down 12 boards to tie her career-best.
- Hazell also tied her career-best in rebounds with eight.
- The Dukes had their best free-throw shooting game of the season, finishing 17-of-18 (94.4%) from the line.
- Jefferson is now just 17 points away from joining the Dukes' 1,000-point club.
First Quarter: JMU 14, CofC 10
- JMU jumped out to a 5-0 lead and did not let the Cougars score until the 6:50 mark.

Brianna Tinsley led the way for the Dukes' in the opening quarter, scoring five points on 2-of-2 shooting.
Second Quarter: JMU 24, CofC 20
- The Dukes' first field goal of quarter didn't come until 5:04 with Carodine scoring the first bucket of an 8-0 run.
- CofC used a layup and two foul shots to cut their deficit to four before heading into the locker room.
Third Quarter: JMU 41, CofC 29
- JMU held Charleston to just nine points in the third frame.
- Jefferson led the Dukes in scoring with six points, while Goodman pulled down six boards to lead JMU in the rebounding column.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 64, CofC 55
- JMU took a 17-point lead following a three-pointer by Carodine at 7:46.
- However, Charleston went on a late 10-2 run to cut the lead to just seven points with 1:29 remaining.
- The Dukes then went 5-of-6 from the foul line in the final minute to secure their second-straight win.
