PHILADELPHIA — The James Madison women's basketball team fell at Drexel Wednesday evening as the Dragons used a fourth-quarter comeback to top the Dukes, 64-61. JMU falls to 11-12 (7-5 CAA) on the year while Drexel improves to 20-3 (12-1 CAA).
JMU led 52-47 heading into the fourth quarter, but Drexel held the Dukes to just nine points in the final frame while the Dragons scored 17 to come from behind and win their third-straight game.
Madison Green led the Dukes for the second game in a row with 17 points, shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. The senior guard added three steals, an assist and a block in 29 minutes of action.

Kiki Jefferson added 17 points, seven rebounds and a career-best six assists.

Annalicia Goodman was the third Duke to finish in double figures with 12 points as she shot 6-for-9 from the floor.

- JMU held a 33-30 edge on the boards. However, the Dragons pulled down 14 offensive rebounds to collect 21 second-chance points.
- Drexel committed just eight turnovers, the lowest of any JMU opponent this season.
First Quarter: JMU 18, Drexel 16
- JMU used a 10-2 run to take a 16-10 lead at the 2:10 mark.
- Drexel then responded with a 6-0 run to tie the game with 17 seconds left in the first.
- Jefferson used a strong drive to score a layup right before the buzzer to give JMU two-point lead.
Second Quarter: JMU 31, Drexel 28
- Both teams struggled to shoot at the start of the second frame as the Dukes' first bucket didn't come until 7:05 and Drexel didn't score until 4:15.
- JMU took their largest lead of the game when Green hit a three at 2:16 to put the Dukes up by 11.
- The Dragons then answered with an 8-0 run final two minutes to cut deficit to three before heading into halftime.
Third Quarter: JMU 52, Drexel 47
- The Dukes opened the second half with back-to-back threes from Green and
Brianna Tinsley to extend the lead to nine.
- Drexel continued to chip away at JMU's lead, eventually using a pair of free throws with 40 seconds left in the quarter to bring the Dragons within one.
- JMU responded with two foul shots from Jefferson and a Green jumper to lead by five heading into the final frame.
Fourth Quarter: Drexel 64, JMU 61
- Drexel came out strong and went on a 6-0 run to take their first lead since early in the first quarter.
- The Dragons held the lead until Jefferson scored at 2:47 to put JMU up 61-60.
- Drexel then knocked down a triple with one minute to play to take a two-point lead.
- The Dukes fouled in an effort to stop the clock, sending Hannah Nihill to the line to score one of two foul shots to give the Dragons a three point lead with three seconds left in regulation.
- JMU collected the rebound on the missed basket and called timeout to put the ball on their offensive end. However, the Dukes were unable to score in the final seconds.
