HARRISONBURG, Va. — The James Madison women's basketball team recorded a season-best field goal percentage as they downed UNCW 73-51 Sunday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes improve to 12-13 (8-6 CAA) while the Seahawks fall to 3-21 (0-14 CAA).
JMU shot 54.7% (29-53) for their best field goal percentage of the season thus far while adding a three-point percentage of 50% (8-16).
Madison Green led JMU from beyond the arc as she knocked down 5-of-6 three-point attempts.
Kiki Jefferson led all players with 21 points with Green adding 15 and
Steph Ouderkirk chipping in 10.

Jaylin Carodine with seven.

Brianna Tinsley tied her career-high of six assists.
- The Dukes held a 38-24 advantage on the boards.
- JMU scored 14 points off the Seahawks' 12 turnovers.

First Quarter: JMU 21, UNCW 7
- The Dukes shot 50% (9-18) from the floor and 60% (3-5) from three-point range to take a large lead in the opening frame.
- Carodine went 3-for-3 from the field while Jefferson knocked down a pair of treys as both players ended the quarter with six points.
- JMU pulled down an impressive 14 rebounds while UNCW collected just four boards.
- The Seahawks shot just 25% (3-12) in the first 10 minutes of action.
Second Quarter: JMU 38, UNCW 21
- The hot shooting continued into the second quarter for the Dukes as they went 41.7% (5-12) from the field and 60% (3-5) from beyond the arc.
- UNCW had more luck getting their shots to fall in the second with their field goal percenrtage of 54.5 (6-11).
- Green went 3-for-3 from long range in the second set of 10 minutes to end the half at a perfect 4-for-4.
Third Quarter: JMU 60, UNCW 35
- Dukes opened the second half on a 10-2 run with six of those points coming from Jefferson.
- UNCW ends the run with a three, but Tinsley quickly answered on the next possession with a three of her own.
- The Seahawks then went on their own 7-0 run as JMU didn't score again until 2:23 with a foul shot from Jefferson.
- Jefferson scored 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting in the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 73, UNCW 51
- UNCW outscored (16-13) and outrebounded (8-7) the Dukes in the final stanza.
- Ouderkirk finished the game strong as she led JMU with six points in the last quarter on 3-of-3 shooting.
