ELON, N.C. — The James Madison women's basketball team shot a season-best 50% (7-14) from three-point range as the Dukes topped Elon 71-56 Friday evening at the Schar Center. JMU improves to 10-10 (6-3 CAA) while the Phoenix fall to 10-8 (2-6 CAA).
Jaylin Carodine led the Dukes with her third double-double of the season. The senior guard registered 14 points and a career-best 19 rebounds.
JMU ended the night shooting 40% (24-60) from the floor and 84.2% (16-19) from the line.

Kiki Jefferson led the Dukes in scoring with 19. She added eight boards, four assists and a block to her stat line.

Second Quarter: JMU 42, Elon 30
- The hot-shooting from beyond the arc continued for the Dukes as they shot 40% (2-5) from three in the second stanza.
- Carodine pulled down six of her 19 rebounds in the second quarter to tally nine boards at the half.
Third Quarter: JMU 56, Elon 47
- The Dukes saw their largest lead of 18 points at 7:27 follow two foul shots from Goodman.
- However, Elon outscored the Dukes 14-5 in the final five-and-a-half minutes to cut their deficit to as few as seven.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 71, Elon 56
- The Phoenix used back-to-back triples to cut JMU's lead to six with 3:50 to play, but the Dukes responded with a 9-0 run to end the game and complete the season sweep over Elon.
