NEW ORLEANS – James Madison junior Kevin Larsson was named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

This is the first offensive weekly award the Dukes have earned from the conference, but fourth overall weekly award. Sebastian Conlon (Aug. 27), Enrique Garcia Barelles (Sept. 17) and Davide Materazzi (Sept. 24) have all been tabbed Defensive Player of the Week this season.

Larsson led the Dukes to two wins in the past week, taking down Georgia Southern, 3-1, before shutting out Kentucky, 2-0, to move to 7-1-5 overall and 3-0-2 in Sun Belt play.

The midfielder netted his second career brace to begin the week, scoring the game-winner against Georgia Southern for his first goal of the season before converting a penalty kick 43 seconds later. The midfielder then aided in shutting out Kentucky later in the week, while putting a shot on goal.
