HARRISONBURG, Va. – Redshirt seniors
Chay Strine and
Demitri Turner of James Madison men's soccer were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

For Turner, it is his second consecutive nod to the Academic All-District Team with Strine garnering his first laurel.

A 3.511 cumulative GPA holder as a kinesiology major, Strine started all 19 matches for the Dukes in the midfield as one of two captains on the squad. Turner, the other captain, boasts a 3.78 cumulative GPA as a quantitative finance major and started all 19 matches this season as well, adding an assist to his tally.

Both played as defensive midfielders, having their hand in one of the best defensives in the Sun Belt. At the conclusion of the regular season, the defense for JMU ranked second in the league in goals against average (.824), shutouts (eight) and goals allowed (14) as it made a run to the semifinals of the conference tournament. As the nation turns to the NCAA tournament, the Dukes currently rank in the top 25 of save percentage (13
th), shutouts (t-13
th), team goals against average (18
th) and shutout percentage (23
rd).
