NEW ORLEANS – The James Madison cross country team was recognized for its achievements in the classroom as it was named a U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Team.

The Dukes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.421, with nine runners earning Dean's List or President's List honors this past semester. Additionally, senior Miranda Stanhope was one of 18 JMU student-athletes to achieve a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the fall.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
