SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Senior Tatum Walsh notched a career-best fourth-place finish to lead the James Madison women's golf team at the Cardinal Cup on Sunday afternoon, hosted at the Louisville Golf Club.
Walsh's fourth-place finish came in a deep field of 84 players and topped her previous best placing, a tie for 10th at the Pat Bradley Invitational on Oct. 18, 2021. The native of Midlothian, Va., carded rounds of 72-73-71 on the par-72, 6,384-yard Louisville Golf Club, setting a career-low 54-hole score of 216 (E).
As a team, the Dukes finished with team rounds of 298-304-297.
Freshman Bella Flores kicked off her collegiate career with a tie for 16th, finishing with a three-round aggregate of 223 (+7) and recording rounds of 71-75-77. Classmate Hannah Rabb (80-77-73) notched a tie for 38th which included a career-best 73 (+1) in the final round.
Maria Atwood (78-79-77) and Lauren Waxer-Gooding(77-81-86) rounded out the JMU contingent in Kentucky, as the duo both tied for 53rd with 54-hole scores of 234.
Middle Tennessee took home the team title with a three-round team score of 880 (+16), finishing first of 15 teams. Catie Craig of Western Kentucky won individual honors with a tally of 213 (-3).
