MEN'S HOOPS WELCOMES APP STATE FOR SATURDAY SHOWDOWN
- James Madison men's basketball welcomes the App State Mountaineers to the Atlantic Union Bank center for a 4 p.m. tip on Saturday, January 18.
- JMU is coming off a 67-64 win against Marshall on Thursday, while App State carries a four-game winning streak into this game following a 62-43 win at Old Dominion on Thursday.
- The Dukes are 8-1 inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center this season, while App State's win at Old Dominion was its first on the road (1-4) in 2024-25.
- The game will stream on ESPN+ with Curt Dudley (PxP), Steve Buckhantz (color), and David Hulvey (sideline).

- App State currently stands at 10-7 (4-2 SBC), coming off a 62-43 rout of Old Dominion in Norfolk. The Mountaineers took the first meeting with the Dukes, 86-66, one week ago.
- App State has won four games in a row and sit tied for second in the Sun Belt standings as of Friday, Jan. 17.
- As a team, the Mountaineers are second in the league in scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of 62.9 points per game - second in the Sun Belt behind South Alabama (61.9). App State held Old Dominion to 43 points, its fewest points allowed to a DI opponent since 2015. In conference play, the Mountaineers are only allowing 59.7 points per game.
- Myles Tate (15.4) and CJ Huntley (14.4) lead an efficient Mountaineer offense that ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (45.6) and three-point field goal percentage (36.4). - App State used a 26-4 run that bridged the halves to take control and downed James Madison, 86-66, on Jan. 11.
- The trio of CJ Huntley (21), Myles Tate (21), and Jalil Beaubrun (16) led the Mountaineers offensively - who shot a season-best (vs. DI) 53.8 percent from the field and made 10-of-17 (.588) shots from behind the arc.
- JMU shot just 34.8 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 13 times in the loss. The Dukes shot just 6-of-24 (.250) from behind the arc and allowed a season-high 86 points.
- Elijah Hutchins-Everett led all JMU players with 19 points and nine rebounds. AJ Smith finished with 13 points – 11 in the second half – and corralled six boards.
- App State used a 14-0 run to extend the lead from 38-30 to 52-30 in just under five minutes of game time. It is the fourth run of 10-0 or more the Dukes have surrendered this season.

- James Madison men's basketball led by as many as 16 but held off a late Marshall rally by converting free throws to snap a two-game skid and win, 67-64, inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Thursday night.
- Down 65-61 with 2.4 seconds left, Marshall's Jalen Speer hit a three-pointer and was fouled to cut the JMU lead to 65-64, but missed the free throw that would have tied the game. AJ Smith converted two free throws with a second left to give JMU (10-8, 3-3 SBC) the win.
- Despite allowing 14 offensive rebounds and being outrebounded 42-34, the Dukes turned Marshall (10-9, 3-3 SBC) over 17 times, which led to 17 fast-break points.
- Xavier Brown led all Dukes with 13 points, while Bryce Lindsay added 10 points and a career-high seven rebounds.
- Speer led all scorers with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-11 from deep. Mikal Dawon (15), Obinnna Anochili-Killen (12), and Nate Martin (11) also scored in double figures for Marshall.
COOKIN' AT THE BANK
- The Atlantic Union Bank Center has been the home of James Madison men's and women's basketball since the 2020-21 season. This season, JMU is 8-1 inside the friendly confines of the AUBC and own a 52-15 (.776) record at home since the arena opened.
- In 2023-24, JMU finished 14-1 at home, its only loss coming to App State (59-55) on Jan. 13.
- Against Sun Belt foes, the Dukes are 17-4 in home contests dating back to 2022-23. Their last loss at home to a Sun Belt opponent at home was to App State on Jan. 13.
- Since the Atlantic Union Bank Center opened in 2020, the Dukes are also 27-3 against non-conference opponents. The loss to George Mason was JMU's first at home against a non-conference team since Jan. 3, 2021 against Morgan State (80-73).

- All parking pass holders — both Spot-Specific and Reserved — will enter through the North Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. For those entering through the North Entrance, all parking is reserved and first-come-first-serve. There will be no spot-specific parking available for doubleheaders.

- Accessible via the South Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck as well as the adjacent surface lots (C12, D3, and R4), general parking is available beginning two hours before game time. General parking is free of charge, available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
