Barnett Honored for Second Time on Manning Award Stars of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – James Madison quarterback Alonza Barnett III was recognized by the Manning Award and Allstate Sugar Bowl for the second time this season, as he was selected to week 10's Manning Award Stars of the Week.
Barnett, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, tallied 362 yards and five touchdowns in JMU's 52-20 win at Texas State on Oct. 28. He threw for 264 yards and a season-high four touchdowns while completing 67% of his passes and led all players with 98 rushing yards and a score.
It was his second straight game gaining over 350 total yards and scoring at least five touchdowns. His game in San Marcos was highlighted by a career-long 76-yard touchdown pass and his second run over 50 yards of the year.
Barnett was previously honored on the Stars of the Week on Oct. 20 and was also added to the Manning Award Watch List on Oct. 23.
