HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison lacrosse has risen in the latest IWLCA Division I Poll, receiving the #12 ranking as announced Monday morning.
This follows a week of road trips for the Dukes, who notched wins over Georgetown in the Nation's Capital on Wednesday, 16-11, and Temple in Philadelphia on Saturday, 18-4.
The Dukes currently sit 13th in the NCAA RPI, having already faced five opponents in the top-10. JMU holds the fourth-highest position of any mid-major team in the country, only behind Princeton (third), Yale (ninth), and Loyola (twelfth). JMU's setbacks this season have only been against top-10 teams. The Dukes are also ranked 13th in the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20 this week.
JMU is now 9-4 on the season and remains the only team from the AAC ranked in the poll. Through four conference games, JMU sits atop the American in goals per game (18.25), goals allowed per game (6.25), draw controls per game (22.5), shots per game (40.75), and save percentage (.519).
#12 JMU will play its final two home games of the regular season this week, welcoming in-state foe Liberty on Wednesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. and new AAC member South Florida on Saturday, April 19 at noon for Senior Day. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+.
