Four Dukes Named to VaSID Indoor Track & Field All-State Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Four members of the James Madison track & field program earned VaSID University Division Women's Indoor Track & Field All-State honors, as announced by the Virginia Sports Directors on Wednesday afternoon.

Hurdler Jordyn Henderson notched First Team All-State status, while sprinter Holly Mpassy, pole vaulter Erica Moolman and thrower Jaiden Martellucci were named to the Second Team.

Henderson capped off a strong indoor season with a first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the ECAC Championships in 8.38 after notching silver in the event at the Sun Belt Championship with a school-record time of 8.28. The senior captured four wins and recorded top-three finishes in the 60-meter hurdles in every meet she competed in during the season.

Mpassy posted second-place efforts in the 400-meter dash at the ECAC and SBC title meets with times of 54.39 and 54.63, respectively. In addition to her performances in the 400-meter dash, the Orpington, England native also moved to No. 5 in program history in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:14.92 at the Navy Indoor Invite.

Moolman placed fourth in the pole vault at the ECAC Championships, clearing 3.75m (12-3.5) to tie her indoor career-best jump, which stands at No. 2 in program history. The graduate student registered four top-five finishes, including a pair of event titles during the season.

Coming into the season with a personal-best weight throw mark of 15.38m (50-5.5), Martellucci produced four throws of over 16 meters, highlighted by a toss of 16.52m (54-2.5) to round out the top five at the ECAC Championships.
