HARRISONBURG, Va. – Junior outside hitter
Kennedy Louisell finished with 17 kills to lead James Madison volleyball to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-20) sweep of Bellarmine on Friday evening inside the Convocation Center.

Louisell, who finished with an attacking percentage of .516 with just one error on 31 attempts. JMU (1-3) hit a season-best .312 as a team and held Bellarmine to a .132 hitting percentage, finishing with 9.0 blocks.

The freshmen tandem of
Addie Norman (9) and
Ana Toumazatos (7) combined for 16Â kills. Defensively,
Julia McNeley tallied double-digit digs (15) for the third consecutive match, while
Ayen Nhial led the Dukes with five blocks.

Bellarmine was led by Natalie Bland and Erika Smith, who finished with seven kills apiece.

First Set: James Madison 27-25
- JMU jumped out to a 7-2 lead and forced a quick timeout from Bellarmine.
- The Knights battled back to tie the set ay 17-17 on a kill from Natalie Bland.
- The teams battled back and forth to a 25-25 tie.
- A kill from Louisell and a block from Toumazatos and Anna Wilson gave the Dukes the set one win.

Second Set: James Madison 25-18
- JMU held a slim two-point lead at the media timeout as Grace Wenrich scored on a dump set.
- A kill from Louisell extended the Dukes' lead to four (20-16) and forced a Knights timeout.
- The Dukes put away Bellarmine in the second on a block from Nhial and Melisa Ilter.

Third Set: James Madison 25-20
- JMU maintained an early lead (15-13) at the timeout as Ilter picked up a kill.
- The Dukes reeled off three straight points, including a pair of service aces from Grace Wenrich, to force a Bellarmine timeout with the score 21-18.
- The Knights scored two points the rest of the way to pick up the sweep.
