ATHENS, Ga. – Freshman
Klára Sionková picked up a career-best tie for eighth place to lead James Madison women's golf to an eighth-place finish at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Monday afternoon.
After carding an even-par 72 on Saturday, Sionková produced a career-low 68 (-4) on Sunday and wrapped up her tournament with a 76 (+4) on Monday to place eighth among 89 golfers. Her 54-hole score of 216 (E) is also the best outing of her career.
Rising 22 spots on the leaderboard on Monday was junior
Grace Petzold, who recorded a 71 (-1) to finish in a tie for 21st with a three-round score of 224 (+8) with scores of 77-76-71. The top 25 placement is Petzold's sixth of the 2025-26 season.
Sophomore
Bella Flores managed three solid rounds of 75-76-74 to tie for 29th at 225 (+9). Freshman
Emerson Elm rebounded from an opening round 79 to card rounds of 75 (+3) and 74 (+2), finishing 12-over-par 228 and tied for 47th.
Amber Mackiewicz (82-80-81) rounded out the JMU contingent in Georgia with a 54-hole score of 243 (+27).
